It really was a thumbs up!

Great morning at the pool. Practice, practice, practice. I was able to do laps with only three stops in the middle to stand up and take a breather. And—without the kickboard—I saw I’m closer to the breathing rhythm I need in order to go the distance with both arms and legs. That’s closer to the goal, but no cigar. Man, you’ve got to really inhale in those two seconds your head is above water. I have to break the habit of the double inhale. It’s only possible with the kickboard. Not without a flotation device.

Most importantly the lifeguard gave me the thumbs up again this time. I saw it—didn’t imagine it like I thought I did last time. The lifeguard walked by and said, “You’re doing good!” Yay! Progress. Let’s keep going!
