It was a lovely day in Harlem nearly 20 years ago when the first Black woman brewer Celeste Beatty, my filmmaker self and my talented cast and crew accompanied the affable and talented Antonio Fargas across six ideal #Harlem locations for Sugar Hill Golden Ale’s first commercial. I remember our producer Laurens Grant kept eagle-eye watch on the rain predicted in three different forecasts for Noon that day. The timing of what turned out to be a monsoon was perfect for our indoor set and lunch! Harlem Brews have made $3.5 million in sales ever since and revenues are still coming in! The beers are THAT tasty!
